A daily system running through my home server that pulls together weather, tech news, gaming updates, Steam deals, and a personalized note.
SYSTEMS BUILDER / PRACTICAL MAKER
Hello, I'm
ILYAS
MOHAIMEL
BUILDER, TROUBLESHOOTER & SELF-TAUGHT SYSTEMS NERD
I spend most of my time around Linux, self-hosting, AI workflows, troubleshooting, and figuring out how systems behave when they stop cooperating.
BASED IN CASABLANCA, MOROCCO
My home server setup for self-hosted services, experiments, scripts, and the kind of debugging that happens when a system becomes part of daily life.
A set of practical AI-assisted workflows shaped to move across desktop, phone, browser, and server tasks without turning into a fragile one-off demo.

SKILLS
WORK PROCESS
-
01
DISCOVER
Understand the problem, goal, constraints, and what actually needs to work.
-
02
TEST
Break things down, try practical approaches, and learn from what fails.
-
03
BUILD
Create the system, website, workflow, tool, or fix with a clean structure.
-
04
DEBUG
Find edge cases, errors, performance issues, and weak points.
-
05
IMPROVE
Polish, optimize, document, and make the result usable in real life.
I care about useful systems: clear enough to understand, reliable enough to trust, and personal enough to feel worth using.

ABOUT ME
Curiosity is the constant.
I grew up in Casablanca and naturally drifted toward computers, operating systems, customization, and all the weird little details most people ignore. I learn best by touching the system directly, testing limits, and solving the kind of problems that do not come with clean instructions.
What pulls me in most is the mix of technical depth and real usefulness: making a machine faster, fixing something broken, automating a repetitive task, or shaping a setup until it actually feels personal.
Broken first, boring later
A lot of my work starts with an annoying thing: a service that fails silently, a laptop that feels slower than it should, or a workflow that takes five extra clicks every day.
Across devices, not just demos
The useful stuff has to move between my Windows laptop, Linux setup, phone, browser, and frostserver without becoming too delicate to touch.
The small details are the work
Naming, logs, contrast, recovery steps, phone layout, and the exact wording of an error all matter more than they look like they should.
AI workflows that are actually useful
Practical agents, prompts, and structured automation that earn their place in daily work.
Prepping for a CS degree
Sharpening fundamentals before starting Computer Science / Software Engineering in China.
Self-hosting and system tuning
Keeping personal infrastructure useful, fast, debuggable, and honest.
Deeper software/systems direction
Going further into programming, systems, and technical problem solving.
Linux & Desktop Environments
Years of Linux use across distros and desktop environments, from lightweight window managers to full setups.

Running a home server for media, personal services, scripts, automation, and experiments.
Docker / Services / ScriptsAI Automation & Agents
Practical workflows around agents, prompts, and structured automation.
Agents / Prompting / WorkflowsTroubleshooting Mindset
Comfortable with broken systems, Windows issues, Android modding, hardware decisions, and edge cases.
Debugging / Repair / Edge casesCybersecurity & Programming
Hands-on curiosity around security concepts and practical learning.
Security / LearningStudy Tools & Web Building
Small web tools and systems that reduce friction in real daily work.
Tools / Web / PracticeOUTSIDE RESET
Outdoors keeps my thinking sharp.
Staying active helps me reset, focus better, and come back stronger when I am facing a hard problem. Hiking, cycling, kayaking, and ice skating give my brain a clean restart away from the screen.
GAMING
Games are part of how I think.
Gaming is not just downtime for me. I care about atmosphere, systems, story, and the way a world teaches you its rules without overexplaining everything.
